Council Sunsets EDAC
On August 9, the Shoreline City Council adopted Ordinance No. 582, sunsetting the two-year-old Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC). Council concluded that EDAC's purpose, size, composition and work load caused it to consume more time and energy than its benefits merited. Council thanked the EDAC members for performing selflessly and for adding signficantly to the City's economic development wisdom.
The City Council wants the City to create new, more flexible ways of gathering experienced input from the business community to help Shoreline achieve its economic development initiatives. The goal is to more efficiently fulfill the worthy purpose that led to EDAC being formed.
