Thank you for your interest in Block Watch!
The goal of Block Watch is to decrease crime and increase community awareness through crime prevention education and a partnership with police. Form a Block Watch with your neighbors by taking these 3 steps:
1. Volunteer to be a Block Captain (you may have co-captains)
2. Identify which homes will be members of your Block Watch and create a map and phone tree (10-20 homes recommended)
3. Contact Officer Obstler to schedule a meeting
Meetings are typically held in the evening at a home in your neighborhood but can be at a school, church or other suitable location. You’ll learn about crime trends, burglary prevention, and more. Home Security and Operation ID will be discussed and you’ll find out how to get signs posted that say you’re a Block Watch Neighborhood.
