Shoreline Receives a New Mural
In July a new mural will be painted on the large concrete wall in the Echo Lake neighborhood on SR 104 at 1st Ave. NE. Highly regarded Edmonds muralist, Andy Eccleshall/The Mural Works, was selected to design and produce the artwork.

Council enacts plastic carryout bag ordinance
On April 29, the City Council voted to prohibit plastic carryout bags at all retail locations in Shoreline. The action is aimed at reducing waste and litter and protecting Shoreline’s environment. The regulations will go into effect on February 1, 2014.

Shoreline Farmers Market will kick off its second season on Saturday, June 15 at Shoreline City Hall. The Market still has a limited number of spaces available for local artisans, cottage kitchen operations, non-profits, and musicians.

Preventative road maintenance coming this summer

City receives King County's Green Globe Award
King County has recognized the City of Shoreline as a leader in pesticide reduction and awarded it the Green Globe Award. Shoreline parks and rights of way are managed in a pesticide-free manner and City homeowners are encouraged to reduce pesticide use.

Bike lanes coming soon to NE 185th Street

RapidRide E Line construction begins this spring
Beginning this spring, Metro Transit will be installing new bus shelters and signage along Aurora Avenue N as part of its planned bus rapid transit service known as RapidRide. This service will run from the Aurora Village Transit Center to downtown Seattle via Aurora Avenue N.
